Abstract
Urbanization is a global phenomenon with profound implications for socioeconomic development, environmental sustainability, and quality of life. Ajmer, a historical city in Rajasthan, India, has experienced rapid urban growth in recent decades, leading to significant changes in its demographic, economic, and social landscape. This research paper aims to explore the patterns of urbanization in Ajmer city and examine their socioeconomic consequences. Using a combination of quantitative data analysis, spatial mapping techniques, and qualitative research methods, the study investigates the drivers of urbanization, the spatial distribution of urban areas, and the impacts of urban growth on various aspects of socioeconomic development, including income inequality, access to basic services, and environmental degradation.
